“We were unlucky against Niger Tornadoes” Yusuf Ibrahim

Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC) refined striker, Yusuf Ibrahim has said he and his teammates were unlucky in one of the semi final games in the ongoing Ogunjobi Gold Cup Preseason Tournament.

The Sky Blue Stars lost 3-1 to Niger Tornadoes FC at the Kwara State Sports Complex after Akemini Kingsley had earlier put his side ahead from the penalty spot in the 4th minute before Wakili Abdullahi and Nosiru Afeez double free kick lift the Ikon Allah Boys to the final of the tournament that will be played on Saturday, 8th of September, 2019.

Speaking with RSSC Media, Yusuf Ibrahim who was introduced in the 65th minute said it was painful for him not to have been in the final of the ongoing Ogunjobi Gold Cup Preseason Tournament but he is hopeful that he and his mates will take the positives from the competition.

“It is quite painful that we didn’t qualify for the final of the competition, it is our wish to win the trophy but we were just unlucky. We had couple of chances but didn’t convert and we hope to take the positives going forward.”

“I equally want to use this opportunity to appreciate the organisers of the tournament because it has been a platform for us (U17 Players of Remo Stars) to play against bigger teams and it will no doubt boost our confidence going forward in tournaments to come.” Yusuf Assured.
